Um El amed

Tyr District

· Southern Lebanon

Um El Amed is a settlement located on a hill that overlooks the Tyre - Naqoura road, and houses today remnants of olive presses, houses and temples that date back to the late Phoenician era.

The name "Um Al Amed" was given to this site by locals following the extensive number of columns that elegantly stood before it got pillaged during the Lebanese civil war and the Israeli occupation.
