Ain Hercha, meaning in Aramaic “houses of spirit” or “magic and elegance” (claim) is a village located in Mount Hermoun, Rashaya district.
On its mountain sits a well preserved and beautiful Roman temple that dates back to the 2nd century AD, with remnants of ancient habitation, tombs, caves and Greek rock carved inscriptions.
The temple still bears carved blocks that show busts of Selene, the moon goddess and Helios, the sun god.
