The Hamidiyeh Clock Tower, or “El Tell Clock Tower”, is located in the middle of El-Tell Square in the heart of Tripoli, the second largest city in Lebanon and the capital of the North.

The clock tower was designed and built during the early 1900’s by the Turkish Mutasarrif architect Tawfiq Bey.

The tower is a 5 story structure, measuring 30m of height, and was offered by the authorities of the Ottoman Empire to the city on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the seating of Sultan Abd El Hamid II.

The tower is one of 3 clock towers built during the reign of Sultan Abd El Hamid II (Beirut, Tripoli, Haifa).
